Pick the tooth up by the crown, not the root. If it's dirty, rinse it briefly in milk or saline (not water) and don't scrub it. If you can, put it back in the socket. If you can't, keep it in milk or in your cheek and call us straight away. Time makes a real difference to what's possible, though re-implanting a tooth isn't always successful.
